Mount Rainier National Park is a beautiful drive! During our drive through the park, we noticed a small town called Elbe, WA. This was home to the Mount Rainier Scenic Railway. This was a cool ride with the help of a steam engine. We would recommend this railway! It was pretty cool!
While we are making our journey, we ran into some cool locals while in Washington. They allowed us to stay on their land for a few nights and the small plot of land was so quiet and relaxing! It even connected to an active river. Just an amazing piece of property! Thank you!
While visiting Mount Rainier National Park in Washington, a hike on the Skyline Loop Trail provided an amazing experience. The trail, felt like a constant uphill climb of 2.2 miles, offered spectacular views and a good workout. Along the way, we encountered deer, calm marmots, and wildflowers. This was a great hike!
We wanted to do something different. On a random list og things to do in Seattle, the Museum of Illusion was sounding interesting. We decided to go for it and we had a ball! We even learned a thing or two! It was an interesting day to say the least.
Thunder Knob is about a 4-mile trail located in the North Cascades National Park and gives very blue water views as well as the horizon. We took Buddy on this hike but knew we would have to help him (and this means we had to carry him in his backpack)! YUP! His own backpack!
Today was a hike that was amazing, intense, and rewarding! We went to a Mount Rainier fire lookout, which offered stunning views and diverse wildlife sightings. Despite a challenging 1,000-foot elevation climb and relentless insects, the journey to Mount Fremont Fire Lookout was a triumphant experience. We enjoyed this hike and got some great photos!
Today was a great, busy day in Seattle! Navigating the city was challenging due to traffic, but the scenery was beautiful. Highlights included the lively Pike Place Market, where fish throwing was a fun spectacle, and the original Starbucks with its unique history. We also enjoyed a spectacular meal at Taylor’s Shellfish and Oyster Bar.
We recently drove from Kalispell, MT, to Seattle, stopping in Spokane for lunch at The Elk, a spot featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Their BBQ chicken quesadilla and oysters were amazing! Deciding Spokane wasn’t for us, we continued to Seattle, arriving around 1am. The next day, we explored Seattle’s waterfront, capturing beautiful sunset photos!
Construction at the Many Glacier entrance initially disrupted our plans, but we turned it into a win! By starting our hike before 7am, we easily bypassed the timed entry system and discovered our new favorite trail. We were thrilled to spot great wildlife including some moose! This made our day and hike so enjoyable!
Despite plans to hike the Grinnel Glacier trail, construction in the area of Many Glacier’s entrance had restricted access. Instead, we enjoyed the scenic drive and a relaxing visit to Lake MacDonald. The lake’s colorful pebbles were stunning, though many online photos are enhanced. We were excited to just take in the beauty of the…
We were in the area of Glacier National Park and wanted to check out the Montana Vortex and House of Mystery, which offers a “weird” experience. They featuring some Bigfoot memorabilia and three vortexes! We witness optical illusions, like people appearing to change height on level ground. The unexplained phenomena make for an interesting experience.
While hanging out in Kalispell, MT, there was a breathtaking sunset unfolding which panted the sky with vibrant hues as magnificent cloud formations gathering above the horizon and tree line. I quickly photographed the spectacular scene. The pictures turned out great, especially the unique tree horizon, clipped from the bottom-right and climbing to the left.
Montana proved to be a surprisingly beautiful destination, with stunning landscapes stretching from Billings to Kalispell and picturesque snow-capped mountains. Herron Park, located near Kalispell, offers an extensive trail system perfect for mountain biking, horseback riding, or hiking. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking overlooks of Foys Lake and Kalispell, experiencing the natural grandeur of the region.
We drove through Yellowstone, prioritizing Buddy’s health at lower elevations. We saw wildlife, hot springs, and the Old Faithful erupt before exiting the park to head to West Yellowstone, a charming western-style town. It was a quick but memorable trip focused on Buddy’s comfort.
After ensuring Buddy’s health stabilized in Salt Lake City, Utah, we’re now en route to Billings, Montana, a city also at a safe elevation for him. The drive has been surprisingly scenic and pleasant, revealing an unexpected beauty in this part of the country. We don’t have specific plans for activities in Billings, MT.
Due to an unexpected bout of altitude sickness affecting Buddy, the group started their drive much earlier than planned. Despite the health concerns, the journey offered a stunning visual detour. They were able to frequently stop and photograph the remarkable Red Canyons, which provided a memorable highlight to their trip.
Following a hike on Angel’s Landing, we set out to explore The Narrows in Zion National Park, seeking to experience the lower canyon areas. Much of the hike involved wading through the refreshingly cold river water, an unexpected but enjoyable challenge. Although the full trail was eight miles, we aimed to complete at least five…
Today is the day we conquer a tremendous hike on Angel’s Landing… it is a very well known hike for it’s crazy path and use of chains. We wanted to take this opportunity to really see the beautiful panoramic views of Zion National Park… and this did not disappoint in the least!
We made our way from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to Zion National Park and the first thing we noticed was the change in temperature. Although Zion is amazing, the heat is intense. That didn’t stop us. We drove through the park itself, hiked Angel’s Landing (which was insane) and The Narrows. AMAZING!
Today was a pretty easy day as we are relaxing around the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Today, the drive-though was spectacular and allowed us to see what we haven’t had the chance to see before on a previous trip! This was such a great time and we are excited to see more!
