During our trip visiting with family in Ohio, I had a great opportunity to meet some amazing people. Today, that person was Richard Fowler of Fowler’s TV, which is located in Saint Mary’s, Ohio. We talked about electronics, TVs in the earlier days, his amazing wife of 70 years, and the fun crazy times in…
We arrived in the Yosemite National Park area and planned to do a drive through the park before going on a hike tomorrow. There are so many pull-offs available along the roads to get some amazing photos! This was a great drive!
One of the places we wanted to check out as Pismo Beach, CA while we were driving on the Pacific Coast Highway. This is an awesome city that is directly on the state’s coastline and offers many activities for anybody passing through. We got some great photos of the park and the immediate area.
The drive along California’s Pacific Coast Highway (CA-1) offers a mix of experiences, ultimately providing a beautiful journey. Travelers enjoy spectacular views of the ocean and crashing waves, navigating hairpin turns, and seeing towering trees and a waterfall. Despite occasional construction zones, the drive is highly recommended for its breathtaking scenery along the way!
As we continue our road trip southward towards California Highway 1, we unknowingly found a very pleasant place called Crescent City. This is an awesome little harbor town!
Talking about something you don’t do everyday! This was a blast! We decided, as we passed through the Oregon Dunes, to find a place to rent a couple ATVs for a couple of hours! We found one and we hit the dunes!
We wanted to make a drive through the Mount Hood area as we continue our journey. This was a really cute area with several pull-offs with amazing views. The base of Mount Hood was closed on our arrival for training purposes. The drive was on a nice sunny day and the temperature was so comfortable.
For a vey small walk, we can check out Multnomah Falls and the bridge (which was starred in the movie called “The Shack”). This was a really nice area complete with a snack stand a flowing river you can touch. This was worth a visit!
Such a great time! This is something that was out of the ordinary and we were excited to play some of the games! They had amazing pinball games from the 70s through to 2000s and even newer! You can see the details in how the games got more complex as technology got better! So Cool!
Today was such a great day to go to the Tillamook Creamery and Dairy Farm in Tillamook, OR! We went on a self-guided tour of the facility and had the chance to watch the cheese be made, stored, cut, and packaged! It was a great experience and we respect them folks! Tough job!
One of the places on our list to visit was Cannon Beach, OR because of the beach and Haystack Rock. We were excited to see the low-tide and also learned that “tidepooling” is a thing.
We had a fantastic day taking a long, seven-mile walk with a slight 800-foot elevation gain, which felt much steeper. This was one of our last walks in Olympic National Park before heading toward Portland. There were several closed buildings due to storms had washed out the roads. This was a hike with some history!
A long time ago, I made myself a promise if I was to ever go to Seattle, I have to take some time to visit the Space Needle. Tonight was the night we did just that! We made it a great day as we got some good food and checked out the Space Needle.
Mount Rainier National Park is a beautiful drive! During our drive through the park, we noticed a small town called Elbe, WA. This was home to the Mount Rainier Scenic Railway. This was a cool ride with the help of a steam engine. We would recommend this railway! It was pretty cool!
While we are making our journey, we ran into some cool locals while in Washington. They allowed us to stay on their land for a few nights and the small plot of land was so quiet and relaxing! It even connected to an active river. Just an amazing piece of property! Thank you!
While visiting Mount Rainier National Park in Washington, a hike on the Skyline Loop Trail provided an amazing experience. The trail, felt like a constant uphill climb of 2.2 miles, offered spectacular views and a good workout. Along the way, we encountered deer, calm marmots, and wildflowers. This was a great hike!
We wanted to do something different. On a random list og things to do in Seattle, the Museum of Illusion was sounding interesting. We decided to go for it and we had a ball! We even learned a thing or two! It was an interesting day to say the least.
Thunder Knob is about a 4-mile trail located in the North Cascades National Park and gives very blue water views as well as the horizon. We took Buddy on this hike but knew we would have to help him (and this means we had to carry him in his backpack)! YUP! His own backpack!
Today was a hike that was amazing, intense, and rewarding! We went to a Mount Rainier fire lookout, which offered stunning views and diverse wildlife sightings. Despite a challenging 1,000-foot elevation climb and relentless insects, the journey to Mount Fremont Fire Lookout was a triumphant experience. We enjoyed this hike and got some great photos!
Today was a great, busy day in Seattle! Navigating the city was challenging due to traffic, but the scenery was beautiful. Highlights included the lively Pike Place Market, where fish throwing was a fun spectacle, and the original Starbucks with its unique history. We also enjoyed a spectacular meal at Taylor’s Shellfish and Oyster Bar.
